I typically bought my license every August in the past...but I had not fished since our son was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis a couple of years ago. Since we had been dealing with that situation...I really didn't have time to go fishing. Now that we have it under control & he has expressed a desire to go again...I wanted to renew it.

I guess the next time I go to Academy I can see if they will be able to remedy the situation or if it will end up being too much of a hassle. Seems more like a mistake by the cashier. I wish I would have known that we could have bought a license earlier this year...I would have bought a Year From Purchase license back in March if I knew it existed. Just didn't make sense to pay $30-$40 for a license that would expire a few months after I purchased it.

I get the combo and also govt land permit.
Mine costs $105. Taking my son dove hunting this way is still cheaper than a day lease somewhere.

Word you never know when you need that turkey tag too.

It's more than the catfish would do.

What would be different if I had purchased the normal All water license instead?

My wife was a school teacher and she wouldn't fish fall or winter. She would wait til school was out for the summer and buy a license to fish the summer. Before they offered the year from purchase, she was paying full price to fish three months. Now she can buy in June and it is good for a full year.
