i have been bass fishing for 4 years now and have only had 2 days where i caught more than 25 fish in a day. both days were before a cold front and one of those i fished in pouring rain. this last month has been tough for me as i have spent more time graphing out deeper looking for fish(but not catching a whole lot) instead of putting the trolling motor down and just fishing like i had previously done. it just got me to wondering what people consider a good day on the water. 1fish,2fish,3fish an hour? 5 two pounders or 1 five pounder? what do you consider a good day this time of the year? and how well are you actually catching them this summer? im more of a numbers person so 3 fish an hour average is good to me.

Truth is, "good" is a relative term. The definition depends on many different factors...where you fish, time of year, weather, etc. So what's "good" one day may be terrible or terrific another day. With that in mind, fishing in the run-of-the-mill U.S. waters, 25 fish that weigh over 65 lbs is a good day for me. At El Salto, a good day is well over 100 fish with an average of 4 lbs.

For me, any day on the water with safe return is a good day on the water.

Even just one fish is a bonus.

No mechanical failures is a bonus.

Just BEing on the water is such a blessing.

For me a good day involves being in my boat on water and have not lost any rodnreels or lures overboard, have not hooked myself or a fishing partner and not getting sunburnt. If I catch some bass all the better.

A good day to me is getting to go out and be in nature, on the water.
But from a success standpoint I suppose it's all relative.

A limit of 16"+ on Conroe goes down in the history books for me.

Time on the water away from the hustle and bustle of the real world, I didn't tear anything up and if I get a bite or two that's a bonus!!

Unlike everyone else evedentally that doesnt mind not catching fish, i do. This time of year if i fish all day and put 12 or so in the boat i consider that a stellar summertime day.

A good day for me is when a kid or someone who hasn't ever caught fish have a fun time.Nothing better than a big smile and being with friends on the water.

i guess fishing is tough for us all cause most have not stated how many fish they are (not) putting in the boat. LOL

I consider a good day (in the dog days of summer) to have 1 good fish on (4+) with a limit of keepers to back it up.

Nothing breaking is always nice too!

My expectations go way up when the water starts cooling down.
