So i was wondrin... What are some tips or hints that would help me have better success while bank fishing for catfish?
I have found out that shad is probably the best bait to use, and while i was in Nebraska, fishing off of the Missouri, i did learn most of the basics, (types of setups, leaders, hooks, rods and reels), but i would still like to improve, and possibly be able to show up my aunt the next time she takes me fishin.
Thanks guys, Tight lines!

Thanks for all the info guys, please keep it up! The reason for this is the wind sets in motion the food chain- Winds blow what ever the shad eat and stirs the shallow water, shad come to that wind blown bank to feed on the shad food , feeding fish usually follow the shad- Before I knew this I hated that the wind was blowing into my face and would push the bobber back to me if I was using one, back I to shore- But watch your catch numbers improve when you make this change- The reason you want a "point" is that there is a depth change on either side of the point and fish usually stage there while they feed-they like to have deeper water close to them. When your are trying find shad to use as bait with your cast net the same thoughts apply.

If the wind is blowing across the point concentrate on the windward side that's where the bait fish stack up.Maybe put one line on the quiet side.
