Hi guys,

This is the first Ragged Tooth Shark that I have ever caught and although at 190lb not the biggest of sharks, I was overjoyed. The fight lasted 25 minutes and it was released within 5 minutes after it was landed. In October I am going to try and better my PB for the species.

Nice job tokkie! I like the way that rod is built too. Not a lot of guys use that style over here in the states. In the states we call those Sand Tiger sharks too. One of my favorite species. I'm jealous! Great catch!

I live in South Africa and I caught it off the beach at a coastal town called Struisbaai in the Southern Cape Province. These sharks are reasonably abundant in that area.

Thank you HuntinForTail! I love these sharks too and they are quite docile over here. They swim with the divers on the reefs and not a single case of a shark attack could be attributed to this species over here. Unfortunately, careless anglers have been bitten due to incorrect handling of the fish after capture but none were serious.
