I felt sorry for this guy. I was coming back to the dock at Fayette to throw my cast net and watched as the poor guys truck sank completely under the water. Had to get it towed out. I'm sure it's totaled!! Talked to him and he said he left it in neutral by accident and he his motor died just when he noticed it was rolling back after unloading and couldn't push it back up. Always check that your in park!!! [img:left] http://www.fishingacrosstx.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=13920&d=1377198211[/img]

Saw the same thing on Belton, 6 months ago, the boat floated up and the truck and trailer were completely submerged. The individual, never called a Tow truck, he was waiting for his "friend" to arrive. When I left after 2 hrs the truck was still submerged. He didn't seem to be to upset.
P.S. I was in my boat fishing.

Self correcting. I bet he doesn't forget to put it in Park AND Set the E-brake, ever again.
I tried to be normal but it got boring so it's just back to being ME~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Never argue with an Idiot, They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

I had heard of people doing that and finally a few years ago I witnessed it first hand as a guy just backed in and kept going. Wasn't a pretty thing to see either!
Just one more cast!

Had a gear shift indicator off one place on a rental. Thought I was in drive but was actually in neutral. Luckily did not roll back all the way into Austin. Luckily there was a college kid with a jeep and it only cost me a six pack.

A pair of wheel chocks behind the front wheels would have saved that guy a lot of grief.

It doesn't help that those ramps at Fayette are covered in the slickest slime I've ever seen at a lake. I've busted it more than once loading/unloading my boat out there. If you get your back tires in the water without 4 wheel drive, just stay in the truck and flag somebody down, because you aren't getting out of there without some help. Hope that guy's day got better somehow. That's a day you want to quickly forget for sure.

The truck only floated for about 3 minutes. Enough time for the driver in his boat to scurry back and forth around the truck to figure out how to pull it back to the ramp... I pull a jon boat with a CRV and use that ramp all the time and know not to back up to the water all the way for sure!!!
