Great day on the water with BIL (salt water fishing dude), started out slow fishing timber in 12-16fow. Moved shallow and started tearing them up in 5-6fow. At one point we high centered on something in 3fow and caught a couple doubles since we were stuck.

Ended up with 19, all released for another day.

Minnows accounted for a couple of fish, then a few caught on Crazy Angler's Texas Toast, but the ticket today was the grasshopper from Jigum Jigs, tipped with a crappie nibble thumb

No pictures taken hammer

love catching them out of shallow timber or brush, surprised me, that they are shallow already. maybe the overcast days have helped some.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

What area of Belton? I usually stick around Roger's Park, or occasionally the damn, and I haven't gotten any Crappie yet. Caught about everything else in there while tryin to catch Bass though.

Crappie are always alot of fun! those guys can fight...

Where do you launch with the lake being 11 feet low?

Belton has very long ramps due to the original lake level was 25 feet lower when it was first impounded.

We launched at cedar ridge park. The dock is outa water by about 20 feet or so, and its a looong way down the ramp.

I saw stuff I hadn't seen for years.

be careful out there and wear your pfd and kill switch's thumb
