I went fishing with Justin Margraves on Fork yesterday and it was TOUGH!! We only caught a few small ones early. However, it was a good trip in my book. I wanted to learn the lake from a different perspective and that is exactly what happened. The guy absolutely worked his tail off trying to get us on some fish. I was able to see what he was seeing as he used his electronics. This was a great experience. It was a hot day and we fished for almost 10 hours. The time flew by and I am positive that we would have stayed until dark if I did not have leave. I already knew that the fishing was going to be tough, so I did not have high expectations of catching a bunch of fish. I learned a lot yesterday and that made the trip a success. There are a many great guides on Fork, but if you ever get the chance to fish with Justin Margraves, then I would highly recommend that you do.

You had the right mindset going into it! Learning is what it's all about.

I fished with him last weekend and had a really good time. He put us on fish under tough conditions. Great guy!

Had a trip today, and it was tough for us also! We caught a couple on top and had a few just miss it completely!Had some rats taggin my swimbaits. Tough worm bite today. They were dropping it very quick today! Definitely a thermocline that has set up real good at about 23 feet! Tight lines...Ron

My Son and I fished with him the Friday before Skeeter Owners Tourney and had a great time. He is one hard working and electronics savvy guide. We caught some fish and learned graphing and a number of deep water spots.

From what I saw this weekend, the Lake Fork turnover has begun. Brown foam everywhere. Brown waterlines on clean boats. October can't get here soon enough.

And the water definitely had that turnover stench. It was pretty tough on Saturday. Things on the lake are a changin' just in time for the slew of tournaments next month.

Man sorry it was tough. I got a phone call this morning and was told that one BIG NAMED guide is flat on them right now!
I was told he had 2 over 10 in one trip last week!
Learning is an important part of a guide trip , it's good you got that part out of your the trip.
But oh boy it's fun when your guy is on them and you get to smack some toads!

From what I saw this weekend, the Lake Fork turnover has begun. Brown foam everywhere. Brown waterlines on clean boats. October can't get here soon enough. What I hate about this more than the fish not biting as well will be the high volume of posts on the forum asking if the lake has finished turning over yet....
