Just had some questions about soft plastics, cause all those $4-6 packs start adding up after a while. I usually fish these soft plastics t-rig weightless or 1/8oz bullet weight. After catching even 1-2fish, the tips of my soft plastics start ripping.
Is there a better way to rig them so they won't rip as often? Or maybe it's how you set the hook? I've seen a video saying that you have to set the hook on a slack line so the hook will go all the way through the soft plastic.
Tips/advice appreciated

Light wire hooks will help, I texpose the hook in the ribs of a Grande Bass, or Hags instead of running the hook through the main stem of the plastic, this helps some. Bottom line is it takes a soft plastic to achieve the action needed to catch more fish. A soft plastic is only going to last so many cast much less multiple catches.
If you fish Yamamotos you can just figure one fish per 2 Senkos if your lucky.
Buy colors your confident in and don't waste money on colors you will not have confidence in, that will save a ton of money.
Just my thoughts.

Heat the tip of knife up with a lighter and then you can mend your soft plastics. It'll save you some cash. I have had them Almost ripped completely in half and then melt them Together so they look new. Just start saving all your torn plastics and then when you have time at home fix them. Also, once you melt them together, I like to boil them for 10-15 mins in a salt water, then lay them straight on a cookie pan with salt on it. Make sure it's straight or else they will re harden with a curve. This softens the baits up and makes them new again. Good luck to you!

You can do wonders with a soldering iron in your spare time with a few extra pieces of worms to melt into the torn spots.
I have taken the vibra tale worm by Zoom and put two of them together side by side. This makes one heack of a frog for over the grass. The tails are much bigger and that is what I was after for the noise it makes. Just shorten it to the length you perfer.

lamoon78 is right on! I use the owner screw lock hooks with my soft plastics & it helps get several more fish per bait. Also, & one of the main reasons I use the screw lock hook, is that I never have to worry about the bait pulling down the shaft & covering my hook point. This keeps you from missing fish as well.
