Which do you guys prefer? I have some buddies that swear by Vixen's but I read a lot about guys catching on spooks. I've thrown vixens but not sure I've thrown a spook in years.
If you ain't first you're last.

I don't have a Vixen but I have some of the Paycheck Repo Men and the River2Sea Rovers which are pretty close and I love them. Fishkiller here on the TFF got me hooked on them as he throws them a bunch when we fish together. They just seem to outperform a spook to me. Then again I am far from a topwater guru.

Mark I should clarify. I also am throwing a Repo Man lure. Virtually the same lure although I know some hardcore Vixen lovers will disagree.

I have customers going to Amistad this weekend. I have given all of them one of my Spooks. I will PM. you with any information that my guys have to offer.
I expect the bite to be good with the new water. Talk to you on Sunday night.

Rumor has it that the Vixen is going to be produced again. Tackle Warehouse says to expect them in September.

Hopefully the new ones are close but Even with the same molds different different factories ad plastics supplier could change a lot of characteristics

Once I acquired a few original Vixens my spooks are just that, spooks. They hide out and hardly ever see the light of day. My favorite though is the Ichiban Balsa Pro

Sold my Vixens on eBay for $40 a piece. Beautiful baits but topwater gets no time in my boat.

Seems as if most days the Vixen will get the majority of bites, but when the spook bite's on... oooooh.... watch out for those big fish.
Toads for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
