I own a Jackson Coosa but am considering a switch to a more stable yak. One that will allow for standing and fly fishing. Yak needs to be very stable and suited for fly fishing.

Any suggestions? Price range $1000-$1200.

Thanks

You might ask Jerry about that Native Slayer 14.5. I think he put a stand assist bar on it? He fly fishes a lot so might be a good start.

The slayer 14.5, it is really stable, even more so with my outriggers lol, but really stable by itself. It has a really clean uncluttered deck perfect for strippong line. It tracks really well, does great even without a rudder and has a wheel that makes moving it a breeze. Best part is mariner sails has there 2013 models on sale. Good luck.

Yes jerry put a stand and fish bar on his, looks great and works well or so I hear. If jerry can easily stand up in it anyone can, not an insult, his words not mine.

I've been taking a Slayer 14.5 out for the last couple weeks. I'm extreamy Impressed with its stability. It one of the few kayaks I'm able to stand and fish out of. If you'll give Mariner Sails a call we can set you up with a demo.
Either that or I can bring it home with me and you can meet me at Ray Roberts?

Or the new roto molded diablo amigo shown at icast 13? Sucker is 37" wide!

This looks like the ideal fly fishing platform.

James, you ain't gonna like paddling anything that's 37" wide. Of course, we can always put a trolling motor on it!
