The Monument Inn is still there. I think you mean the San Jacinto Inn, it was right next to the Battleship Texas. It was a great place!

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

Is there still a Raymonds Bar-B-Q on Garland Rd in the Casa View part of Dallas?
Sam's Barbecue on S.Buckner sure was good, I imagine they're long gone.

Southern Kitchen - Dallas - I loved that place!

Any one of Bill and Marty Martin's restaraunts I think at one time they had about 7 going in Tarrant County.

Woodys - in Fort Worth - there is still the one in Brownwood.

The Big Pit in South Fort Worth - the original winner of the best hamburger in Fort Worth - Oh and Kincaids is 15th on my list at best.

During the sixties we would catch Jimmy Dip's on University on the way back from Lake Benbrook and a mess of Sandies would get a heaping helping of food to go.

I remember a lot of these.
One place I remember going as a kid was a chain called H Salt Fish and Chips on Hwy 80 in west Fort Worth.. It always had huge lines when we went. It seems like they didn't stay in business very long, I have no idea why.

What fabulous memories everyone! You reminded me of some of the ones I'd forgot!

Does anyone remember a place called the PIZZA PALACE back in a corner of the old Casa View shopping center? I've never been able to find any pizza that tasted like that anywhere. No idea what his secret was, but it was definitely worth a lot! I wish I had his recipe!!
