I'm looking for some good striper/hybrid action and in dfw area. I don't have a boat so when i get on the water I want to maximize my time with good fun. My pops is coming up paying the bill so I wanna see him have a good trip. We purchased a guide before for black bass and I caught one 4 pounder while trolling back to the boat ramp after fishing hard all day. Needless to say I was kinda bummed I even caught him since that meant we had to pay the guy. Any advice? I am looking at tawokani it seems to be doing well right now but i am open to any lake reasonably close. a guarantee of some kind of catch would be nice. thanks

Look in the yellow pages for fish market, go there, and ask them to toss the fish across the counter for you to catch. Guarantees in fishing are very tough.

Twok and Texoma are your best bets for Hybrids or stripers. Ray Hubbard and Cooper are awesome Hybrids Lakes. Cedar Creek is a freak on White Bass.

There are lots of guides on here. I'm sure some will chime in soon. Most, if not all of them are very capable of putting you on fish. Lots of great fishing in the DFW and surrounding areas. That being said, fishing is fishing and on any given day the fishing can be tough. Look around the forum at the guide's posts and see which one fits your agenda. Book a trip with them and be confident of your choice and go have a good time. With me it's not always about how many fish I catch, But having a good time on the water. Guides have a way of making most trips a great time. I know the 1st question from the guides is going to be " WHAT DAY ARE YOU WANTING TO GO?" I'll save them the time of asking...

I would recommend Matt Cartwright and or Joe Reed on Lake Tawakoni!! If there booked they will hook you up with another great guide out there.. There's really no guarantees in fishing...however this is as close as it gets to it!!! You will be satisfied. If you get a guide that offers a money back offer..you might want to shop around a bit.

I'd like a chance to earn your business. I fish on Ray Hubbard full-time and we have some great hybrid stripers out here. It's not a tawakoni or texoma but quality fish none the less. We fish out of a 2013 24ft center console that is very roomy and stable. This is from Saturday Give me a shout if you're interested. Thanks! Paul - 214-668-8467

Being a fishing guide is like being a Doctor or a lawyer. You practice you craft every day. The results vary. There are no results if you dont practice your craft. Thats why its called a practice.
Find a guide with a good practice and go fish. Nature will give you your results.
Be sure you show up on time and fish hard the whole time if catching fish is the prime reason your going.

thanks you for the awesome response. As for the fish market dude...thanks for the sarcasm anyway...I know fishing is not a guarantee but maybe just looking for a change of gameplan or even a day of good instruction when things are not working out. But hey that was one guide. I think I got some really good feedback on here and appreciate the forum! Really I just want to have a good time with my dad and create some memories. Thanks again guys!

I would recommend Paul Rogers (The Bombay) on Ray Hubbard.

I am planning a trip on Tawakoni with Matt Cartwright (Lakeguide). A good friend of mine also had a good review of Roger Gray from this past weekend. He said, "[Roger] was a no bullish** type guy. He was like 'if you do what I say, you will catch fish.' And we did." I also see Salsa from Michael Littlejohn's Tawakoniguideservice.com consistently posting good results.
Fish on hook! Reel him in, slowly.
