i just got a used generator for night fishing. i have the par 64 lights. after a night of salt filled sea air, how do you clean up your generator?

As long as it didn't get wet your fine you can change the air filter and wipe down the metal parts. If its going to be sitting awhile shut the fuel off or drain the tank the ethanol in the gas is not good for small engines when they sit.

I think I would also start it up and leave it running until you run all the gas out of it ,btw spray in down with a water hose while it's running. thumb

Careful with that spraying! Use fine mist, preferably soft water, run until thoroughly dry then think about running out of gas. Fine mist,otherwise might be a shocking experience--make no mistake, those little generators can kill you! BTW, two schools of thought there--some say run dry, others say keep gas tank full, using Sta-bil Marine or SeaFoam. (Use the stabilizers whichever way you go!)

we used it last night and i washed the wheels and bottom part of the frame that got sand on it. the generator has a gas shut off and we ran it out of gas to empty the carb.
