Let me tell you guys, if you fish offshore structure this is a MUST have feature. Fishing yesterday evening mainly old foundations, brush, and isolated underwater root balls. You can pull up and 9 out if 10 casts I would hit my target. No more marker bouys for me. This thing is bada$$

I love it. Thanks. The point-1 makes fishing offshore structure so much faster and more efficient.

The point 1 is an updated, faster updating gps as well as a built in heading sensor. When networked by the NMEA 2000 system, it can be used at both bow and console. The heading sensor keeps your boat icon facing the exact way your boat is facing making it easier to cast to waypoints.

i used the point 1 this weekend and have to say it is worth its weight in gold. it really helped me stay on my spots without having to use a marker buoy.

You'd also need the nmea starter kit if your boat doesn't have it already.

Yes, when they first came out Lowrance said they would not be compatible but apparently they were. The gen 2 just has a few extra filters or something.
