Started fishing about 6:45 throwing small top waters in shallow water. Partner caught 3 and I caught 1 and missed about 3 more. I was not on my topwater game that morning! After about the first hour it really slacked off for us. We tried a couple different areas throwing frogs and worms but nothing was working. Tried one last spot and finally got on them pretty good throwing blue fleck powerbait worms on a t-rig. We had decided to keep fish and up until 11 we only had 3 in the box. Ended up with our 10 slot fish by noon and headed in. Total count was probably some where around 25 as we caught numerous fish that exceeded the slot limit (14+ inches) and a couple that were too small to keep. Did have one larger fish probably around 5 lbs that broke me off right at the boat. That makes 2 trips in a row that I've lost good fish close to the boat. Oh well, that's fishing. Despite the heat it was a pretty good day on the water!

Went back out again yesterday evening to take a little break from studying. The fish were still there! I fished for about an hour and caught 10 more with the biggest being 2.8 lbs. So not real quality fish, but still fun. All caught on the same pattern as Friday. Even caught one of the fish we caught Friday again. It had a big lump right in the middle of the lower jaw so it was easy to distinguish. I guess he didn't learn his lesson the first time around!

Thought you couldn't keep anything between 14" and 24"?

Rhino it is a slot lake. 14-24" has to go back but IMO no unders should be kept right now.

We went out to Gibbons last night just for an hour. Put in the water at 7pm and then back out at about 8:15pm. We caught 5 in the 2-5lb range right at sunset. Lots of fun and the perfect end to a busy weekend.
