Picked up a new boat this week from ACK.

I put a deposit down on an Old Town Predator 13 in urban camo when they shipped to dealers last month and finally managed to get it up here on Tuesday. She's so new that I haven't even had the chance to rig her out yet.

I took her out for a spin on Wednesday and have to say I'm pretty happy. Super stable (33.5" wide), lots of storage, tracks really well, and ULTRA quiet. It's got a decent amount of storage, and the center mod pod hatch is a winner. It is a bit on the heavy side and you aren't going to win any races while paddling it, but my Ride 135 wasn't exactly light either. The seating system on this yak is really well thought out. The three position larry chair style seat is uber comfortable and easy to adjust. I spent six hours on the water and have zero complaints about the seat.

My only gripes so far are no factory installed rod holders and the fact that the seat is non removable for transport. It tends to flap around when folded up and shoved on top of the truck. It's comfortable and fishes well, and if your pondering a new yak purchase or upgrade, I'd recommend checking one out..

Congrats! Nice!
Me and the factory usually don't agree on rod holder type or placement so that gripe would be a plus in my book.
The 3 position seat deal sounds neat.

Congrats on the new yak! So the seat is adjustable, but not removable?

Three positions. High, low, and folds flat into the back tankwell for standing. The seat is captured by channels in the adjustment plates it rides up and down in, but won't come out of the plates without completely unscrewing the whole assembly. It's a great design, I just wish it was removable for transport.

How does the stability and speed of the Predator compare to your Ride 135? ....Especially the stability for standing!
Thank you

Sweet looking but the seat might b an issue for me. Loading on my jeep upside down, the seat would b in the way and would flap like a champ w no top on. How does the yak handle? It's a good looking yak

Wow that is sweet looking, would be interested in hearing about the comfort of the seat and the standing up.

Sorry for the late replies, wasn't paying attention and just noticed all the questions.

Speed is about the same, it's a tank for sure but quite maneuverable. As far as standing, no contest. Predator wins hands down. I can wedge my foot in the side of the tank well and nearly stand the boat on its side without rolling it. (Recovery from doing that is not so graceful though. Trust me. I got wet and had to do a re-entry after that stunt, not because I rolled the yak, but because I lost my balance while trying to bring the boat back from that position while playing around..)

Meh. I just bought two short bungees and tie the seat frame top to the bottom for transport and it's a non issue now.

The seat is awesome. Fully adjustable for lean by little loops attached to the buckles. You slide your thumbs into the loops an tug. Easy to move from high to low or flip completely out of the way. Comfort is awesome, like fishing from a fabric lounge chair all day. I've had the boat out for several day long trips now and all I can say is you simply don't notice the seat or get any discomfort from spending time in it. It does have a tendency to make a bit of noise when snapping into the holders when moving it from high to low, and if you forget to reconnect the strap it can tilt backwards unexpectedly if you put pressure on the back frame and lift your butt off the seat.

Any other questions, let me know. I'll try my best to answer them.

Thank you for the response. Looks like there could be a Predator in my future.
