I went friday evening and got skunked...I was marking fish suspended in 30ft-40ft at the Dam and 15ft in the coves east of temple lake park.....Only reason we didnt catch squat was the water skiers and jet skiers made it a point to get right up on us at the Dam and once the sun set some drunken a-hole with a pontoon boat full of people pulled up in the cove with us with music blasting and they started swimming right next to us....wish the wardens would patrol out there more......

Went out today and spent the whole day drifting 12-15 ft of water, had 3 nice ones on but didnt have a good hold and I watched them swim away, Belton is getting so bad with the drunken idiots, and they are starting to show up in places I used to not see them, they have no respect for fisherman who have every right to use the lake as well, I mean how many acres does the lake cover? They really cant go somewhere else?

Hello all fellow fish slingers! My name is Joe, and my son and I are new to fishing from a boat. Never owned one, until last week, we jumped on a older bass boat that still floats and runs good. After fishing tanks for years, we decided to get off the banks and get into the lake fishing scene. We need some pointers if yall wish to spare some. Stripers is what we are after, catfish second on the list. We got the bass set ups down, for example, Tx Rig, Carolina Rig, Spinners, Cranks, Jigs.

My first questions are these:
What kind of set up to fish for stripers?
Lures, Live Bait, Dead bait? Which to use?
And where??

I am a Professional Wedding Photographer and DJ, www.weddingprosdjandphotography.com, so I cant get out as often as I wish as most weddings are on Saturdays. But On Sundays it is on! If anyone would like to come with me and my boy(14 yrs old) to school us a bit, we would love that too. We are new to this so yall take it easy on us! haha

stripers like shad. But not just any shad. They like shad that are about 4 inches long, prefer yellow fin, and they like them thick and frisky. Very frisky. You'll need a shad tank for that and chemicals and cold water. Grayline makes a good tank. Learn how to throw a net. Thats how you will catch your shad. Cut shad is best for catfish, or the ones I fish for. Also cut carp, buffalo are just as good. And wear a lifejacket....even if you can swim.

Both ha! Day and night I've been fishing, deeper during the day and a little shallower at night
