Wanting to take a trip to catch some specks and reds the weekend of October 5th out of Galveston. I will be going with my dad who loves fishing but doesn't get a chance to very much so I want it to be a good trip where a lot of fish are caught. I will be taking a fisherman who is pretty new to salt so the guide will have to be able to teach new techniques, etc. on the trip. Any guide recommendations will be appreciated.

Try Captain Mike Williams he has speck and red trips, Tarpon shark etc. 713-723-1911 you can google it and check the site. He's real good. By the way did you get your combos yet?

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check him out. Sure did. Got a Chronarch 200e7 spooled up with 20lb power pro braid on a 7ft Medium Castaway Go 2 Saltwater rod. Also thinking about getting a h2o Express Mettle or Shimano Citica to put on my 6'6" MH Volteaus rod. Can't decide!

Nice combo I finally finished up my custom trout rod 7'6 with a penn battle 3000 I have 30lb suffix Hi vis on it now. The citica is nice, I have a Pflueger Recon Reel casts like a dream its made for light saltwater so its sealed. If you can find one get it the gears are smooth.

I really like Capt Greg with saltwaterassault: Saltwaterassault He has always put us on fish and he is reasonable, has a great boat and knows what he is doing. Here was our last trip with me and my daughter who had never fished saltwater before.
Life is one big playground. Be sure to ride all the rides before it closes.
