Going down sunday through wed afternoon with the family. Would like to do some fishing while we are down there. We are renting a beach house right on the water. Any reports on the surf fishing or fishing rollover pass? Dont remember the last time I have been saltwater fishing. Is there bait shops down in that area if we decide to do live bait or dead bait. Also thinking about getting a cast net to catch some bait... any suggestions would be great!

I would be drinking but I have a Fishing problem.

There has been quite a bit of mullet in the surf lately. There are some bait shops close to rollover and further west as well. I have been catching 1-2 bull reds each trip for the last 2 1/2 weeks. Throw out a piece of cut mullet or shrimp and something should eat it.

I was there this past weekend. We fished Rollover Pass and Crystal Beach. We didn't have any luck at Rollover Pass but we did see a few people that did. There were a couple of nice bull reds caught at Rollover while we were there and the guy at the baitshop right there said the fishing had been good. He mentioned that people were having success with croakers. We had success at Crystal Beach using both live mullet and mullet cutbait. We caught blacktips on both live bait and cut bait and we caught a really nice bull red on cut mullet. Good luck to you.
