I have two expensive Melton Tackle Stand-Up Roller Rods, that the epoxy has worn off in multiple places.

I am no expert at rods and do not know how to strip-down, recoat, refinish, or if this even possible with rods.

I put a call into Melton to see if they would repair and have yet to here back. The rods are expensive, so I am open to suggestions on getting them back into shape. Anyone on here handle this kind of stuff?

I am in the shipping business so if someone is not local, it is not a big deal to ship. I have a little cash and a bunch of equipment I could trade for the work perhaps.

PM me if this is something up your alley. Basically looking to take these nice rods and make them new again, but hopefully keeping the expensive components intact.

If the existing blank cannot be altered without messing it up, I suppose new blanks could be bought if it is possible to salvage the rollers, tip, reel seat, aluminum butt, etc. that may work too?

I can also post pictures of the imperfections/blemishes on the rods if that helps steer anyone in the right direction.

Much Thanks.

If you look in the rod building section there are a few in your area. I had one redone in Houston. Completely stripped the old finish and recoated the rod. Mudhole sells everything you would need.

If you are willing to ship Mathews Rod and Reel Repair in San Antonio is the best in my opinion.
