I just moved to Whitehouse, Tx and don't have a boat but LOVE to fish. Does anyone know of any good spots from the bank on Lake Tyler or Lake Palestine.. or any other smaller lakes in the area? If you have a backseat on your boat open I'm also willing to pay for gas lunch etc. to go out on whichever lake. I've got my own truck, rod n reels, and tackle...

Tyler St. Park, Jacksonville, can't think of the name but a little lake west of the highway between Lindale and Mineola.

Bridge on the Hwy 155 right-of-way across L. Palestine is sometimes really good for channel catfish and also white bass. Soon as the weather cools a bit you may start to see white bass surface schooling within casting distance. Also, you can get a decent used kayak for around $300 and kiss the bank good bye.

Welcome enfy54! When are we going to get another, larger IHOP!?!? I have eaten (stood in line) at that location in Tyler since 1972 and Tyler has certainly grown since then! Which side of the bridge depends on time of year. I think most fish are caught off of the bridge/bank on the north (Tyler) end.

Guys I get asked this questions on a daily basis!! I wished the owner would expand then everyone would be happy... but he is old school and believes in the saying "if its not broke, dont fix it" ....
