 Best Baitcasting reel for under $100

Looking to get a reel to pair on a new rod I got. Its a shimano volteaus 6' 6' mh. Looking to spend under $100. I will be mostly fishing saltwater so it needs to be able to stand up to the salt. I was going to get a curado g7 but I've heard mixed reviews about them. I already have a chronarch 200e7 on a 7' medium castaway I use for wade and yak fishing. I'm looking at a few older curado 200's and bantam curados and some citicas. Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

Under a $100 I would pick up 2 Mettle's from Academy.
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I'd say prob lews speed spool you can get them on eBay for under 100, I think they suck but the lews boys will be around soon !!!!

An older model Citica can be had on eBay for less than 100. Upgrade the bearings for 20~30 bucks and you have a curado!

Mettles by far the best and u can get 3 for under a 100

This year they go for $119

Swedish made and they are great in salt +1 You are asking for problems with any reel that has more than 5 bearings in salt water!

I can't believe all the good reviews on the Mettle. I've never heard of it until I joined this Forum. At $29...I think I'm sold for at least one!

+2 on the Mettle--it is not bad at all, like I said in another post this is my new Crappie set up 4ft rod & a Mettle.

I like mettles also but the quantum PT accurist is a nice one as well 17LB drag and very smooth

I would suggest the Citica 200G6 from ebay for less than $100! Incredible deal from a reputable seller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Citica-2...33f8eb#shpCntIdYou can add a driveshaft bearing and a bearing in each handle knob for just a few bucks to make it even better!

Well, I did it! I went out and bought the H2O Mettle at Academy for $29.98 including 12 lb test. I am VERY impressed! It looks pretty nice and after taking it apart...it seems VERY well built! Made in Korea (not China) and seems solid. Even the knobs have a nice feel.
IMHO...go out and get one (or two)! I'm keeping this one in the truck w my travel rod. I no longer have to worry about my Revo or Curado getting banged around.

Academy also has the Abu Orra Sx on sale right now for $69 and is a great option. My next 2 suggestions would be a Lew's Speed Spool or Ardent Apex.
