I was hoping to see your buddy reel that one in after he got back in the boat.

I don't know if I'd have jumped in or not, but I doubt it.

I jumped in after a two dollar road runner the other day, but I was in six feet of water and I could see it a couple feet under snagged on a tree. It was my last of three hammer

Looked to me like the hook set was a bit over the top. You don't need to set the hook so hard with todays sharper hooks.

I have done this before, take the end of your rod and spin it,wrapping the line around it,and you have the fish.

Well, I would not jump in if I did not first have a plan laid out for getting back into the boat. But, if I thought I could manage it to get back into the boat, I would double check for snakes and then swim out to fetch my lure. It always seems to happen on a hard to get one of a kind lure that I really like.

Was that a Pond King you were fishing from?
