Does anyone know what is the current status of Lake Somerville?
I've heard reports of them selling water to farmers and such.

Lake is down 5 to 6 feet is all I know. I have not been on the lake since April.

Fishing has been good even with the low levels. It took 18 lbs. to win a Thursday night jack pot tourny for three fish and about 20 lbs, for a local club tourny for five fish.

Hey you are still around HLS, been waiting on a new video. Should go soon, going even lower. Cranks in 10' has been catching nice bass.

Does anyone know how the fishing has been lately? Particularly for crappie & catfish.

I know Tmac mentioned last month that fishing has been good, but I'm just wondering with as low as the lake has gotten (7ft+ now), are fish moving to deeper parts of the lake (since the water temp is probably higher than normal in shallow water).?

If anyone can provide an update for Lake Somerville, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Crappie are deep from what I was told today. Define deep? 2nd hand knowledge there. Can't help you on that. I sure want to go find them myself. Just have time to bank fish before work.
Catfish still at 5-7' flats, whole and cut shad and CJ'S punch bait.Could go deeper as day gets hotter. Mid depth using cork to bottom.
As always, wind is needed for Somerville fish to bite. Chose locations accordingly.
BTW, water seems cooler when wind blows to shore. Makes a current. No wind, water maybe hotter to 2 1/2' deep, with decent 5-10mph wind, only the 1' that the sun reaches the lake bed is warmer. Windy days can mean shallower fish. FYI, I have been wade fishing lately to get to deeper water. Just my observation.

Thank you catfish-hunter!

Very helpful post as always. Debating whether to hit up the lake this weekend or not. From what I heard, if Somerville continues to release water at the rate their going at now, the water could get even lower (especially with little to no rain) so I might just take my chances this weekend.

Finally getting some good soaking rain here in Austin. Long overdue! Hopefully this storm will help put some water back in our lakes.
