Was this south of the pump station in the straight away?

Was it near the buoy marking shallow water? If so that's called Boat Run Hump.

If your buddy knew the lake and sent you across boat run hump....I'd be looking for a new buddy or him to help cover the cost. That's just me!

Scary spot!! He should have known better if he claims to know the lake. We talk about that spot on the TFF for 2 years now.

I am on that lake a couple times a month when my schedule permits. Even with that, the lake is reaching levels where I would not be comfortable doing anything more than a idle in several areas. If you don't know those spots, then you should be idling...period.

+1 on the suggestion about Google Maps. The imagery was from Nov 2011 when the lake was 1/4-1/2 feet lower than it is today. Shows some spots that should get your attention!

Glad you were all ok and that the boat is salvageable.
