I fished with Phillip Pool today on Alan Henry. I sold my boat and don't know too many folks to fish with up here where I live so I fished with Phillip. This is the second time I have fished with him. A few folks on here have taken some jabs at him but I have to give him a big thumbs up today. Fishing absolutely stunk today. We graphed fish and threw everything we had at them and couldn't get bit. Talked to a lot of others and same story. We were only supposed to fish until about noon but he kept working for me and stayed out until 2:00 doing everything he could to get us on some fish. We ended up catching a grand total of three fish. But Phillip felt so bad about the trip he gave me a free trip of any day of my choosing. I haven't fished with a lot of guides but I haven't heard too many stories of guides doing that. I thought it was pretty cool he did that, so we will give it another go some other time.

That's good to hear. I have heard Phillip Pool is a stand up guy and that proves it. And that lake is fishing really tough right now.

The first time I fished with him we caught plenty of fish, right around the spawn so we were catching a lot of bucks just moving up onto beds, so not a lot of size bit we caught em. Both times have enjoyed talking to him and learning about the lake.

I've been out with him once.We had a bad day .He made me the same deal
free day of fishing. Its been almost a year better take him up on his offer. I got the tracking number for the reels. Thanks again!!!

I know the guy catches a ton of fish. It just bugs me that he turns lah.com into a sales pitch to buy his spoons. every dang post.... but I guess this forum is turning into the same thing. people always talking about their home made lures...

I used Phillip a couple times years ago. He is a good guy. We caught lots of fish and had fun.

Got to give him some credit. It is a super tough lake if you are trying to guide for a living. Most of the year the fishing is not what people expect when they book a guide.

Glad he gives people an opportunity to get out there and catch a few fish.

I agree, it's a tough lake and he will admit it. I know a lot of guys who can catch fish and struggle to hook up there. The only forage it seems is shad so the fish are always on the move. He told me you can catch a hundred a day in a spot and go there the next day and there won't be a fish. I know we spent a lot of time looking.

Yea there are a few of those here too. Everytime some one ask for advice its the same answer, "I make blah,blah. Won a million in my lifetime on what I make. Blah,blah." They need a separate topic for those ads. Oh,wait, there is one!
