Any one crappie fish Falcon Lake lately? What should I look for? New to this. Ive caught two crappies in my life by accident. I was fishing for bass with a senko and caught two in the brush. Long time ago...

I haven't fished Falcon but if I was, I would take some jigs in assorted colors. Matthew Carrol of Jigum Jigs can hook you up, he makes a great jig also if your haven't fished for crappie with jigs before I'd take some minnows to locate the fish then switch to jigs. I would start looking for brush in 20 to 25 ft of water then lower my bait till I hit the brush and then raise the bait up a little and fish all around the brush pile if I didn't get a thump I would come up a couple of cranks and try that, no bite move to another brush pile. Also standing timber in the same depth start fishing 10 ft down and keep working the water column down to 16 ft. once you have devoloped a pattern fish that depth any where on the lake. right now for me brush piles are working better but at falcon it could be timber or bridges. Don't stay in any spot to long if their not bitting move to another brush pile or tree till you locate them. hope this helps good luck.

I grew up on Falcon and we used to catch alot of crappie in the creeks Los Tigeres (Beckwith) and El Veleno with minnows and jigs. There is a mess of trees in that area with steep ledges and underwater sandstone cliffs. Mexican gill netting (is legal in Mexico) takes a toll on Falcon crappie at times, but as long as you stay on the U.S. side you should be fine. Just fishing the Tigers alone will keep you busy for a week...

The cooler months always produced more fish.
