Monster Buck! I bet he will be hard to find once deer season starts. Seems they know when it is time to hide.

Its like fishing in a pond you really can't brag about your catch because you no there. What happen to fair chase hunting You still have to find em, hunt em, control yiur buck fever and make a good shot. Still plenty of fair chase hunting going in. It's a great business and financially for a hunter it is often cheaper than getting a lease. It breaks down easily.. Decent/good lease - $2000-$4000 for your spot Feeder and stand - $300-$1200 Corn/protein - $1000-$2500 Trail cameras - $200-$800 (need more than 2 to pattern em) Fuel to and from said lease - $400-$1000 Time away from work (set up, maintenance, game camera checking, scouting, etc) - $500-$4000 Food and extras - $100-$500 LOW End @ $6,000 - High End @ $15,000 The chance to harvest a 160+" wt free range in Texas on a regular lease is 9/100 or 9% For $6,000 (your low end lease total) you can come spend the weekend being taken care of, far from ruffing it and either harvest a big buck (160-169") or pay a little guide fee and be on your way, if you don't see a buck in your selected size class.. You do the math..

As stated earlier. Super pictures of some super deer. Would love to have the chance tagging one. Super deer on a well managed ranch.

Also factor in the time (5+ years) it takes to grow even one buck that big on a low fence ranch, time and money, just to see your neighbor benifit from your hard work!

Although I like to look, I'm not a big proponent of high fences. That being said, I still back you up. I've hunted in Texas, for well over 40 years and I've got 4 bucks on the wall in the mid-130's. Let me repeat that....40 years of hard hunting and lot's of money. My only chance of killing a buck like yours would be a high fence, because in Texas, there's too many people out there, shooting every little dink buck that walks out, never giving them a chance to mature (minimum of 4 years). And yes, my blinds, feeders, Travel Trailer, ATV & trailer, food, corn, gas, saving my vacation time, etc., is wa-a-a-ay expensive, as opposed to paying 6000.00 for a weekend and taking a better buck; that I wouldn't have a prayer of taking otherwise. I understand 254fishin's point of view, but I've hunted over feeders for years and they don't "come a runnin", like everyone thinks. If there is ample natural food in any given year, you'll sit there til cows fly and not see a deer and that's in great deer country!
