Lol did you say you would get in the water with it? Not a good Idea all the splashing from the shark you hooked could attract a biggger shark looking for a free meal. That meal could be you. Check youtube and look how many times a shark as stolen someones red or trout off their line, or ripped off the stringer. Sharks are not to be played with even a 2ft shark can do serious damage.

If you check the Texas shark fishing forums. Surf side is where most guys catch the biggest sharks unless your going deep sea fishing. They catch some monster bulls and tigers off the coast there in corpus. The catch is most the guys getting into the bigger sharks fish 400-600 yards off shore and take there bait out with a kayak or jet ski. Ive been out on bob hall and seen guys run baits off the end of bob hall with a yak or jet ski as well. Ive not gotten lucky enough to land one in the surf yet but they say you can catch sharks in the 2nd gut quite often as well(granted ive only been down that way a few times so far)

Get a long de hooker are cut off the leader. Most people I know cut the barbs off the hooks now easier to release. Most hooks rust away in the saltwater pretty fast.

The only sharks I've seen in the bays were small (14-18 inch) blacktips. I was told that a 500 lb bull (and several smaller) were caught in the ICW near the wreck close to Ransom Island about 3 years ago, but never saw irrefutable proof.I would not want to be in a bass buster myself, unless you are just using it to run bait and then returning to shore. It is not legal to bow fish shark of any species. Good luck.

Thanks everybody! I really appreciate y'all's help
An onion can make people cry but theres never been a vegetable that can make people laugh.
If you get thrown from a horse, you have to get up and get back on, unless you landed on a cactus; then you have to roll around and scream in pain.
Sorry don't get it done dude

If you want to stay in the bay, rent the boat and anchor up on a flat near a channel just inside a pass on or just after an incoming tide. Fish with a 4' 100lb mono leader and a 14/0 circle hook with the barb bent down. Freeline cut mullet off the back of boat in slowly moving water. You'll catch sharks, reds and slimers. If the water is moving too fast and pushes your bait up to the top, put just enough weight on or before the leader to keep the bait down in the water column.
GOOD LUCK! -Poo

The best time to trap a shark is early morning or midnight.Make sure you take some fish as their trap along with you.First day you need to keep a close watch on them ,next day try to track their movements if possible, third day would be the final day. Hahaha what the heck? Yeah! Ummm--What--? Guys"I have caught some massive sharks in the bay systems in Aransas areas and CC ship channel since the 1970's-80-90's ..There are some really big sharks in the inshore-bay systems..Use the correct gear and be very careful..These sharks will hurt you..even the small ones will hurt you if you are not knowing what you are doing...I suggest speaking and working with someone first that has done this a few times before you go..HuntinForTail knows what he is speaking about...I would listen to him..good luck!
