I always browse the forums and have not seen any update from any fisher men from Abilene at all in the last month or so! Anyone been out to phantom/Kirby and done any good latly. Ive been out once our twice in the last 2 weeks to Kirby with my son and have caught some decent channels is all(2-4lbs). Anyone else had any better luck latly?? Id like to go spend 8 hours or so one night trying to hook up with some bigger fish.

Ha but really, I haven't put much time in lately and when ive been going they've all been 6lbs and under. We've been tearing up some hybrids and sandies at night though in about 17-22 ft for fun

Yes we have been at it steady, last week or so I've put several TFF folk on some exceptional catch's. Sucks to be you, trolls have new bait in the water, knock yourselves out. We got fish to catch

Kirby is generally slow this time of year
But the excessive fishing pressure the last few years is starting to show
DNR has a shock run on the to do list as many have reported the quality of fish on a steady decline.

been in kansas city and now down by waco so not much time at home to even bait a hook..maybe sneak off this weekend and run out to phantom

been catching crappie at Kirby on the fishing dock...been using live shad and caught a couple nice channels along the east bank of the lake....got caught in that storm last night at Kirby and the fishing activity was nuts!! tons of bait fish shallow and right there with them was the bigger fish I caught 5 cats with jigs and a bass..had one cat break my pole

Excellent bait run at Kirby this morning,lots of small carp under 8"and solid 24-30 net pulls of perch up to 6".
Of coarse there were shad on top of shad up to 8" by the bucket.

To the guy in the white Dodge that got a half 5gal bucket from one net throw and leaving without so much as a Thank You

Got out to Kirby last night and ended up with 5 blues and a channel. Nothing too big but all would have been keeper size anywhere else.

Still plenty of baby cats out there, my net seemed to constantly find them as well as the bigger shad and plenty of carp.

Went out last week to phantom with youngcat and did good. His brother landed a 10lb blue....

ya I hit Kirby with the boy saterday night. Wind was almost nothing and the bite was definatly off. The west side of the lake may have been better but was with the kids and didn't want to wade all night:) lol
