I learned something today. Gorilla super glue sucks. Looked in the bag and all glue I had was hard as a rock. Remembered I bought Gorilla glue and grabbed it. 2 fish and the pants came down. The cheap stuff is 10 times better for plastic.

They make soft plastic glue. Super glue can be ruff on plastics. A small amount goes a long way. http://www.prosoftbaitglue.com/Mend-It Glue is good too. Cyanoacrylate ( super glue ) will fail of it gets too hot or too cold. Keep super glue in the house not your boat.

Thanks Duck. The dollar stores stuff works good for me and is cheap enough to leave in the boat. I was just sayin. Gorilla duct tape is great , but I havent figured out how to use it on plastics , yet. .

The black and yellow 4 pack at Walmart has served us well for years....use to be $1 for a 4 pack....now it's like $1.50. Makes plastics go a little further. Also, when ur end wears out bite or cut it off and re-hook and glue. Won't last as long as the first time, but ya get a few more miles out of a "would have been thrown away bait!"

Moestackleshop.com sells jig heads with the screw on attached to the heads that without any doubt holds the sassy shad on all day.

Champion Fish, do you think the screw locks hold better than glue. How do you screw it on when the hook is threaded?
I take an old 2 piece rod Ferrell (sp) female end, and push it thru the tip , opening it up a bit , then thread the hook in and fill the created cavity with glue. Holds real well if I thread it straight. Off one side or the other it will blow out the side.

Great thread. This guy needs some help. He put 6 more in the boat this morning. Probably on hybrid #40 total for him over the last two weeks.

Screw Locks work and yes they are better than glue. I spend the extra $$ to add them to all my jig heads. Try them on your next trip. Have one guy fish a screw lock and the other a thick collar barbed jig head. They may take a bit more time to rig, but well worth it. No chemical smell of super glue on your plastics either. Notice how this fluke wears out? It does not split on top by the base of the jig head. It kind of tears in a horizontal line down the hook. That fluke was uses all day on Lake Tawakoni 12-6-12 with FastGuy George and LenaHorse (Larry).

Try Locktite Gel - easy to work with. But, man, just a drop!
