Caught this 16.5 inch yellow that weighed 2.1 lb on my scale on Monday. Was going to submit for lake record (currently 15 inches 1.99 lb) but messed around and waited too long.

We catch a lot of them on Tawakoni, a few a month anyway. About three winters aha I caught one over three pounds with TallBaldGuy on the boat. We thought it was a state record. Turns out if you look up records there are two types of yellow bass. Mine was a yellow hybrid X. They are a freak of nature produced by a hybrid or striper fertilization. Weird, but it think the record is around five pounds. Great fish!

Bass, White x Yellow 3.50 pounds 18.00 inches Jul 15, 1989 Lucky Turner The TP&W biologists got excited over it and came and took a liver sample to make sure of what it was.
