that confirms what I have been thinking. the only blues at buchanan is where the colorado runs into the lake. If you think buchanan is a trophy blue cat lake, you might as well say you saw bigfoot, or a black panther

They're in the main lake also. I have seen several posts on here over the years of people catching nice blues out there. I have seen pics from people that I know that catch them out there as well. Since your such a great bluecat fisherman according to your bootleg website you think maybe you could catch at least one out there. By the way those last two pics on your site were caught on a guides boat on here I won't say who though. Doesn't surprise me because 99% of your posts on here are always childish and negative.

I do have a nice boat and I'm proud of it and I take care of it because I cant afford another one. I keep it waxed, change oil regular, always use seafoam in it and if something breaks I fix it. I try to keep it parked under a carport. I have extra lights on it, a good lowrance, a grayline bait tank, a ipilot, and 8 good rod holders. I believe if I take good care of it, it will take care of me. The last thing I want is to be broke down on the water.

well, I challenge you. you pick a day and we'll both go fishing there. Me in my boat and you in your boat. You fish for blues and I'll fish for stripers\hybrids. I will have more fish and I will have bigger fish in my boat by 10 o'clock, than you will if you stayed there all week. Let me get this straight....u get 4 hrs....and I get a week? I will accept the challenge if we put $1000 on it...that should pay for my fuel and a weeks hotel.....December good for u?
I'm gonna miss her....

I still call bs. If you dont think I know how to fish for blues check out my website. www.fishing-texas.net.I've caught tons of blues at RC, NM, twok, livingston, waco. I've never caught a blue at buchanan. I stand by by my statement, buchanan has some blues but its not a lake I would go to to fish for blues. LoL after seeing them huge fish 20# blues from twok on that awesome website. I do believe you cant catch decent blues at Buchanan haha

Those blues werent from twok. I went to twok in april, but we were fishing for hybrids. Caught 140 best we could count but didnt take any pictures. Those blues were from waco and limestone. The hybrids on there were from buchanan. The crappie were from LBJ.
My thing is I want to fish all the lakes, not just the same lake all the time. I havent fished every lake in texas, but I'm working on it.

Wow, just found out with all the boat ramps closed at Travis, the one that is open at Volente charges 40 dollars to use the ramp.

Just FYI I wouldn't bet against smoky on Buchanan our only trip there produced several 20+lb blues we caught fish all day there most were solid fish and that was around October
fish to live and live to fish

Wow, just found out with all the boat ramps closed at Travis, the one that is open at Volente charges 40 dollars to use the ramp. I found out about Volente too - talk about highway robbery. I've been told that they used to charge $15-20 when the lake was higher, but once all of the other ramps closed, they started gouging people. The only other option I'm aware of for Travis is beach launches - I checked out the beach launch people have been using at Dink Pearson, and it seems a bit treacherous. I'll have to do the extra drive to fish LBJ or even Belton, I suppose.
