 The last 2 times I went out I got skunked bad. First I took some of my neighbors. Well one guy had to be dropped back at the boat ramp cause his wife worked. The other guy that stayed just had me off my game when I seen him dip fresh cut shad into stink bait! I know to each his own but that just erked me all night. Plus he lives on EM so I wasn't giving up any of my honey holes. Next time out me and my tourney partner had one missed takedown and a wiggle, nothing pulled in the boat, and we both had to work the next day so we knocked off early. Aside from great electronics and finding some spots we would like to try later in the year, we couldn't mark a fish. All this time my boy has been on vacation. We get to the lake about 8p. Bait is no bother. Flash a bright light or under someones lights. That begins the problem! Shad so thick right now you can hand scoop em. So we burned some gas and found the shad busted up into a dozen or so different balls and marked some good fish. I cut the cord on my son. You pick where you cast, how you bait up, and im not going to touch anything. He gives me this look of confusion, then tells me okay get the bait cut up while I get my pole. He baits up, cast it, puts it in the rod holder, locks his bail, picks up his slack. So without a wordbeing said we systematically bait and set out lines. I felt good cause he did it his way but just about how I do it. 10 min. Into it we get one off the front and a good bend off the side. I said to him keeep him from the anchor lines and motor. Im the net man. He landed every fish in the net like a pro. He's 8 and gave me one of those proud moments I have been waiting on. Just wanted to share. Ohh to boot he told me I got skunked cause he wasn't there.... this kid! Love em to death!  After the second fish.... it was a solo game lol
