My TM fishfinder. I had an Eagle Fish Elite 480 and I'm wanting to upgrade. I've got a 798ci HD SI on the console so what do ya'll think would serve me well on front?

Can you upgrade your console and move your current console to front?

I you really want a new front graph I believe HDS5 Lowrance are on sale for less than $400...which will make a nice front graph.

The 480 x 480 is plenty up front though.

Did you ever have interference when both were on. I was told they may interfere with each other with both units running.

What else do you have to buy to go with it? I may not understand it right, but dont you have to have some type of external device that is sold seperately?

The only thing I'm aware of external is GPS, unless smtg is different on the hds units.. and if its just a front graph u won't need the GPS function as u already have it at console. I would go with the best non GPS graph u can afford. I can't remember which of the lowrance models it is, but bps has it onsale for $499 now and it has di, which is absolutely cool with me. I like it a lot over si, to me the si is hard to figure. But I'm kinda old school. That $499 di unit is no doubt what I'd put there. Its going on my lil 10ft boat asap

I don't see a Lowrance DI on sale at BPS for 499.00.

This is the ticket. Always keep GPS on front unit also. Then you won't have to run to back to mark stuff you find while trolling.

ELITE 7X.. It is high def, but doesn't have gps , which you don't need , you already have it.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I would disagree that you don't need gps on your front unit. I use it to mark several way points of structure underwater and then can use my trolling motor to drive between the way points. As far as interference I never had any issues. I also have the Humminbird 597ci HD DI for sale if your interested you can PM me. In great shape I just upgraded to a Humminbird 858 so that I can connect the condole and front graph to share way points.
