well folks sometimes piscatur an me me me me me
think a something different to do ....
we decided we had heard "these" thingz enough we had ta wing it one time for grins ....
it was as described plus a few twists thrown in ,,,,
we smiled on the way back ....
to fun this trip ...
we almost couldn't find it with the gps runnin ....
dirt roads ...not well maintained ....
left here ...
right there ...
back up look ...
hmmmmm...
come on baby ...update pretty please ....

Remember when there was no GPS, internet, navionics, 10in screen graphs...etc?? People still found their way to and from the lake, and found fish while there....lol. how'd they manage?

...its a tiny lake ....we can see the entire lake from the ramp .....

its off the goat trails I swear .....

its the middle a nowhere usa .....

well here it goes crappie not ketchn story time ....
or I should say not very many crappie ketchn time ...
does one even count as not very many ?
lots of timber ...
pretty shallow thru out the lake ...
22 was the max depth we found .....
it looked 6 or so feet low ....
very very scenic type of water body ....
heavy timber 60 percent or better of the lake ...
anyway lost and lookin we did find one crappie ...
it was off a point in timber where we were told they "accidently" ketchem from time to time ...
it was also a Mohawk as they told us lived there ...
it wasn't large by any means ....just a nice solid crappie
we managed it in the first 30 minutes or so ...
we were pretty pumped ...
it was the only crappie in the boat on that water body today
they did manage a few whales early today locally without me ...
but that's another story ....
on with the current story ....
we never used the big motor ...
we trolled the deeper timber and dam and just scouted mostly
a returm visit will be a must ...
what fun ...
I managed an ok 15 inch bass shortly after the Mohawk piscatur ketched
13 foot deep on a 15 foot drop ....
the bass came from the same general area ...
same general pattern ...

well I managed a couple of bluegill
one eater ..
one shrimp ....
it wasn't going well findin fish
we marked a few here an there an tons a bait ....
so we git on the other side of the lake ...
a couple a hours gone
not many fish ....
we come to a small point ....
its just about to get interestin ....
a tree in 15 fow ater on a slight drop off ...
I dropped the ketchn feather jig ..
fish takes it at 12 foot down ...
hooks up for a second ..
felt good ...then gone !
well folks within seconds pisctur sez ...GOT HIM ...
he gives it the ketchn style deep hook set...
the little Buggy whip triples oer ....
the rod looked hung up ....
then it pumped ....and RAN ....
the lil reel squeaked once ...
then squeeeeeeled desperate like a lamb in trouble
till the line snapped like a 22 went off .....
we wuz like well hello there ...
holy heck what the heck ....?
well we were told also one of us was gunna git this treatment today if we went there ....
I am just glad it was him and not me ...
hehehehe

as yawl well know redemption kan be a cast or 2 away ....
its almost time to go ....storms rollin in on us fast
sun fadin ...
awl the sudden large shoals a bait come up ...
and all head down wind to the shallow end of the lake !!!!
neither one a us ever seen this before ..
they were leavin large v wakes travelin rite fast ....
we go into auto pilot ...
I say fish are following em bro lets git up with em....

yes sir last fish a the day ....
we both were rather impressed with the size a that fish for sure ....

Red ear like that fight like the devil man... I see a lot of the really big red ear lose the red ear tab for which theyre named. All of the average size ones still have it, but almost all the big 1# fish have lost it. Weird. I'd just as soon eat those as I would crappie. Good good stuff

thanks sir .....I did manage to try the newest 12 pound braid on my medium heavy with the 10 mono leader ....
had me a hook up on it ....just never turned it ....
hook pulled out
we was pre warned about big fish spankin us in there ...
we was also told it would be almost a miracle to find a crappie in there ....
he was givin us the straight up for sure ....
tough lil lake to go ketchn on ,,,
really big challenges in several areas ...
but we like that ya know ....
our 2 budz 45 minutes down the road got 2 limits a crappie
with another 50 plus bluegill ....
I suppose we should a went to spot number 4 ....
so many lakes ...not enough time iz our moto

Hope u posted that redear in the bream/gill section. It will get lots of praise, and the usual debate over gill vs redear. Truth is, theyre real close cousins

heck we thunk he had a nice crappie when it got on
we didn't even know there were red ear in there ....
we heard it had oversized fish of several species ....
but none in tremendous numbers ....
it was the straight skinny ...
I love eatin them shell crackers as well brother
