Nice! I went yesterday morning, during the rain and bank fished. Tried my usual techniques that always work there for me, but none of them held up so I finally put on a Heddon SpitnImage and fished the northwest cove. That was just what they wanted apparently. For about two hours I had constant bites in that little area, just above the weed-line. Mostly bass and had some redears bite too, which is odd because they are bottom feeders. Usually I catch them under bobbers 6 feet deep in the creeks there.

There are some nice crappie in there and, especially, in Rhodes and Black Creek. Funny thing is, I've always caught them on crankbaits while bass fishing. A couple of years ago, I was out at Rhodes in early spring throwing a shallow running crank in a shad pattern on top of the grassy main point outside the timber and absolutely killed the crappie. Easily caught 25-30, all really nice, barn-door varieties. Of course, since I was bass fishing, I had nothing to keep any of them, so they swam away. Came back less than a week later with a basket in hand and managed one danged fish. smile

Rhodes has monster bluegills too. Caught several in the 8-9 inch class on 7 inch power worms there. Clear has some huge redears also.
