The deck flex on the Ascend does surprise me, since it is a Wilderness Systems kayak with the BPS label. Bass Pro makes their own kayaks in Missouri: Article

Well, Mike at Mariner Sails was great, and I tested three different models. I had preconceived ideas from yesterday's visit at the shop, which were shot to pieces after spending time in each on the water. I would like to test a Jackson and possibly a Diablo Chupacabra, but I don't know where in the metroplex to go. So, I would appreciate some more help as to testing the Jackson and Diablo Chup.

Anglers Pro Tackle carries Diablo kayaks. Call the store in advance to see if they have one in stock.

Thinking AGAIN /;-{ )> I was thinking the RIDE 135. Short enough for smaller rivers like the Devils, good storage for longer trips and stable enough to fling flies from. I was thinking the RIDE 135.
