I had a chat with the GM at BPS. I brought it to his attention that he needed to flat out increase the fly section for Flyfishing around DFW. A lot of fly shops around the rivers and streams sometimes close during the week, so I want to make sure y'all, and of course myself, can get flies for whatever we want to fish for and not worry about the shops being closed.

Carp flies, bass flies, sunfish, white bass, Striper, and the top flies for trout at Broken Bow and other close trout fisheries, plus some food saltwater flies and accessories.

A couple fly tying accessories and gear.

What would you like to see Bass Pro carry that they don't have but need?

I'll forward over the list to the GM and they will try to have it on hand soon. This is the Garland location.

Thanks for any input.

Not being a smart A but lower the price on hooks for goodnes sakes?? I will say that I think BPS has the best line of FFing and tying stuff of all the big stores.

I agree, they do have a pretty good selection of gear and tying equipment.I'm all blanks except for live bait for the bait chunkers.

Ive always thought for a big box store, bass pro had a decent selection of flies and gear. I will admit, I don't buy many flies there...the same flies are usually about half the cost at Hills. But its nice to have it in a pinch.

The last time I was there the tying material wall was almost bare. I don't buy flies but agree that they do need to increase and keep the basic tying items and tools in stock. There was nobody working in the fly shop the day I was there so I assisted two guys in picking out rods and reels so I also suggest that they have a knowledgeable salesperson on duty.

The store always seem to be short on white bead head woolies in the larger hook sizes.
