Both are good but you might consider Kistler. The new KLX is priced between the two, weighs less and uses the new Gary Loomis rod blank. The website even has weekly/daily specials that saves more bucks. You will find rods using the same rod blank for much more.

I know he didn't ask about it but I too have the 7'3" H KLX and feel like its much more balanced than the amistad. Haven't had it long but love it so far.

I don't use Falcon rods because they are made in America, I use them because they are good rods. Being made in America is just a bonus. Same reason I use Shimano reels, because they are good reels. I have Falcon rods in my boat that are so original that they don't have "original" on the side of them. I also have the first Shimano that I bought when I was 14yrs old, that was 30yrs ago and it still works like a champ. C'mon, Ardent reels......really?
OP, I have a (1) Duckett that I bought for my wife. Seems to be a decent rod but I probably won't buy another. Doesn't seem to be all that sensitive and for the money I spent.

Well said Txduckhunter! I don't use Falcons because there American made I use them because they are well balanced and sensitive to detect the lightest nibble. And all my reels are BPS Pro Qualifier reels except for one and that's a Lews. I'm slowly replacing my reels with Lew's. Can't beat a Lew's.

Falcon. If you get a duckett better get a power up than you intend because every one I have held is light for the marked action. Also make sure the guides are straight and the rod as well. The last part has got me to put a duckett back on the rack and move on many times.

Falcon, American made. That's all you need to know.
