Okay, here is another fun jig. I was going to go with 'Electric Booger' because of the colors, but it just doesn't sound right. This is my interpretation of a wooly booger, with a little help from my friends.
Flo Tangerine body, Chartreuse and hot pink tail and chartreuse hackle for the 'wooly'.

Like the colors and not bad. Maybe the Electric Wooly?

Next get you a pack of Saddle Hackle to use for the palmering and collars. It will be not as long of hackles and a tad stiffer. Still can get all the colors you can in Neck Hackle.

That is saddle hackle. The blue collar from the first wooly I did yesterday, was a tip off a schlappen. I don't use much hackle, unless I can't get what I need in schlappen.

Oh it's just wide saddle hackle I guess. It looks fine and being saddle hackle it should hold it self a little better than neck hackle. Every once in a while I get a saddle hackle feather mixed in with some neck hackle, LOL! Still like the colors and bet it will catch crappie!

Hey you like schlappen better than just Saltwater Neck Hackle? I am just curious because I do have some, but I never use it and probably should on something.

Yes, I do. It seems to me that I get much more from each feather of schlappen than any kind of hackle. Cut some V's with your schlappen and see how you like it.

I will have to try it out. I just never looked at it like that so thanks for the idea. I know they are alway a lot longer and yes then you would have more feather to use form each one. I even save the last bit of the feather that I don't use on jigs, but I figure I can pinch that last little bit together and use that on a fly some time. Or I have thought about making a tail for a jig of just the fluff and maybe just enough for one V left on to stick out a bit. Just never have even though I have had some of this for a number of years.
