Got to go Sunday with my Dad. This is the first time that I have ever seen the old Snap Shot on the corner of FM 455 and I-35 was out of minnows. We then went by the Damn Store - go there at 6:45 am they were closed, went to 377 and headed up north, the store up by the 4 Horseman was not open as well, so we went to the Buck Creek Store - They were out of business. So we then headed back to Pilot Point and got some minnows at the old Phillips 66 at the corner of of Business 377 and Jordan Park Road. He counted every minnow! Anyway fishing was tough. We caught around 30 fish but only had 16 keepers. It's still murky up near 922 bridge, but we did catch them up there, should get better as Sept approaches.

Man!

You were really fishing if you had to work that hard to find minnows...

Thanks for the report David, I fished Sunday and caught a messof dinks... A limit of sandbass, a flathead, and a nice black bass saved the day for me. The crappie were not on the brush piles for me.

That old Phillip's is a good place to get minnows and they used to sell by the pound, I am not sure if they still do...

glad you got some fish. been to hot for me. both stores on 377 in Tioga have minnows, but climbing the steps at buck creek ramp is a killer if you put in there. buck creek store been closed for 2 years or so now. hopefully can catch some this weekend.

That Sportsman's convenience store on 455 and 5th has minnows. The store is clean and well lit, they have adequate parking and the people have been friendly every time I've stopped. My guess is that minnows and fuel are cheaper elsewhere but they are my stop when I fish Roberts.

I could have sworn I bought minnows last year at the Buck Creek Store, Oh well, I knew it was inevitable as every time I went by there they were never busy and had smaller and smaller inventory.
I have been buying my minnows at the Snap Shot for ever. I always get a fair share. I've tried the other places but everyone but the Sportsman opens at 7:00 am. I normally am on the water by 7:00 am.

The Sportsman is neat and clean, they have good breakfast burritos and they make an awesome burger, but I can tell those girls just cringe when I walk in there and order minnows.

onfirecrappie - I was fishing Timber. I've tried the brush piles, but everytime I do someone is already on the one I want to fish and then when I do get to one I might catch a few.

We are going to go up there this weekend and make some of our own brushpiles up in Isle Dubois. Are there any rules or regulations that I need to be aware of? Am I suppose to get permission from Parks and Wildlife?

Call the sportsman 10-15 minutes before you get there and they will have them bagged and waiting for you. we have been doing this for years now and always get a great count. their phone # is 940-458-1959

Those girls are awesome. They open at 5am and make fantastic burritos in the morning.
