I am in no way an expert, but I would think one of those 18 - 20 ft aluminum boats that was about 7-8 ft wide would work good. Put a jack plate on it and it should run very shallow. I would put about a 50 hp motor on it. If I'm wrong someone let me know.

My boat was built for the LLM, much like the others built for that part of the world, there's specific things that make them "best" for that part of the world.
No sides: lower profile so when you're drifting an area you're not an empty potato chip bag. You'll be wading at least half the time, and getting in and out of a no sides hull vs not is a big deal.
Super shallow running. not everyone needs a jet, but even a decent tunnel hull can easily run in 4" of water, you'll need it. You'll be constantly running over sand bars, mud cuts and such to get from here to there, sure makes it easier when you can pilot by sight and not worry where you're going. A *proper* tunnel enables you to run anywhere there's a dark bottom, and know if there's a 6" wave, you've got plenty of water to run in. Not having a well setup flats boat is just one ground up aggravation after another.
You don't care about rough water ride fishing there, because you don't ever have to get in rough water. Except for the last 1/2 mile coming into Mansfield, you can run sand flats that'll never get rough to go wherever you wish.
Go hang out at the Mansfield, arroyo city boat ramp, and see what the local studs run, they'll have their clue tickets punched. It won't have a V hull, and it won't have big sides on it.
