Anyone else having trouble with 15LB InvizX breaking during a cast or even when tying on a bait? I've had it happen twice so far this year and it was from different spools bought months apart.

I've never had a single problem with invizx. The only time I've had it break is when I bought bad tungsten and at night so checking it was hard. Check to see if your guides are nicking the line.

I use the 20# invizx and never had a problem. I bought a spool of 15# and had all my crank baits coming off without even hitting anything. I just chalked it up to a bad spool but didn't give it a second chance. My partner talked me into Vicious for almost half the price and have not had any issues at all.

InvizX is good stuff and are pretty consistent with their spools from what I've seen. It could be bad spools, but I haven't had one with them yet. I'm sure it happens though. Having it spread out like that is odd though.

If you're fishing in brush, rock or other highly abrasive types of cover - try AbrazX. It's a little more abrasion resistant. Also, they finally came out with 17 recently this Spring which I just noticed. The diameter is about the same and worth a shot.

If it's been on the same rod check take a cotton swab to all of your eyelets and the line guide on your reel - just to check.

I hope you get it figured out... Call the company and they might even make it right for you.

I have had problems with the 12# and lighter, but not 15#. I would suggest checking all your eyes. I have noticed the Invizx ages pretty quick where it gets weaker, brittle, and starts breaking. I put new line on enough not an issue, but 8 months ago I gave friend a rod & reel with 14# on it and now 8 months later it is breaking often.

I never had any issues either and I use 12# Invizix Can't imagine it being much different from 15#

As usual, have you checked all your guides on the rod and the line guide on the reel? Any chip may cut the line on casts.

Also, have you had any knucklehead friends near your spool of line? Those tend to do the most damage to flouro line. bannana2

At first it was about the fish, now it's about so much more...

Yep Pelican, I've had similar issues and with different spools. Rood and reel guides are fine. I've gone as far as changing line multiple times a month (way too much if not a pro/guide in my opinion). It's never an issue once actually hooked up on fish, if it's going to break it happens with waaaayyyyyyyy less pressure than a fish puts on it.

I'm running some 12, 15, and 20 lb Invizx and haven't had a problem yet. I ran two rods with it last year with no problems either.

Here's something I have noticed that tends to weaken fluoro. When you get your bait hung up and you are trying to get it free, DO NOT reel down to the bait and try to break off by putting the pressure of the break off on the spool. The fluoro will cut down into itself and cause friction and can cut and fray itself. If you do that a few times, you will be casting and SNAP, there goes your bait into the water. That happened to me several times before I figured out what was happening.

That may be the first good tip I've ever read on here or any forum for addressing random breaking spots with fluorocarbon!! Who knew you had to tie a good knot and wet it thoroughly......(No frustration at all...) What you desrcibed makes sense. Thanks!
