Made plans to run over to the paluxy saturday morning to cast Ol Als cane rod. Made the drive through town and saw that Big rocks park is shut down with a gate and no water over the new damn dam. Thinking maybe theres water up river from the lake. Over 101 then lanham mill is locked down and no water. Its dry guys and it made me sick. Not 6 years ago that river was one fine place to be. Glad I got to fish it before they started sucking the springs out of it. Talk about goodbye to a river!!

JB, sorry you could not find water to enjoy your fly rod. It is a shame that the people we elect to make decisions seem to only make decisions that line their pockets.

When someone mentions water shortages, it makes me think about when I worked in Iraq & Afghanistan. We transited through Dubai on the way in & out of our job areas.

Dubai receives MAYBE 2 days of rainfall per year, yet they provide drinking water & water for all other activities by desalinating ocean water.

I hear about global warming and how the Polar Ice Caps are melting & how our coastal cities are going to be underwater!!

Then, you and I go to area lakes and streams to find dry streambeds and lakes that have 10 feet or more of shoreline exposed.

Turn on the news, and you hear about water rationing & how we must conserve this precious natural resource!

I would like to know how much it costs per 1000 gallons to desalinate water from the Gulf of Mexico...

My $.02

An Interesting read:

"Using the river authority figures, the cost per gallon ranges between
$.002 and $.003"
