Will be taking my wife next week for her first saltwater action. Will be fishing piers. Looking for best piers to fish as well as tips. Been 5-6 years since I've been myself. Also looking to find the best party charter in the area for deep sea.

the copano bay pier should be a winner. Fish at night with some spec rigs and work the edge of the lights.

Use the glow shad tandem rig from Texas Tackle Factory too. Those fish will be feeding on glass minnows and watermelon shad, so you need to match the hatch. If you want to get live shrimp, that will work just as good, but it's a biatch carrying around a bait bucket. You really need to just go up and down the pier and see which lights are producing. for the spec rigs, just use white.

live shrimp always works when the tide is coming in.

Went to copano earlier this evening with no luck. We left just after midnight. Everyone was saying the specs come in around 2am. After a long trip down here we decided to sleep and try it tomorrow. Will update tomorrow. Anyone wanna meet to teach a freshwater couple some salt tricks ?

Fish copano but fish the non lit side. Fish the shorter pier just nefore the cover. Use crab fpr bait and hold on
