I have read the new to salt water sticky and is very good. But I need help with rigs. I need to know what type of rigs and how they are built. Also how to use the lures. Thanks in advance

If your using a cork(alemeda, mauler) just tie on a hook. Maybe use a split shot or some orange beads above the hook, maybe a swivel to reduce twist. On the bottom go to academy or walmart to buy some leaders. You can get them with 1 or 2 drops then get some weights and hooks. You may or may not want steel leaders. Everyone has a preference on hook type, weight, line. Just depends on where you are and what you want to catch.

Lures just use around 1/8 jig head. Maybe heavier, maybe lighter. You can use a mauler cork for lures too. There are several ways to rig lures but a regular 1/8 jig head is a good place to start. Sometimes you may want something weedless, sometime you may want weightless.

So do I still add a weight to the lures or do I just use the jig head?

Everything is based on where you're fishing. Setup for finding fish at the jettys is wrong for fishing the back lake flats. So, first question is where are you fishing? Then proper answers can be had.

Just the jig head. As Pat said it depends on where/what/how your fishing if you want more details. To me you can do a lot with the rattle cork and bait or jig head and lure. I'm normally drifting or wading but if I'm fishing the beach I'll use a leader setup on the bottom.

Try a fish finder rig or a double drop rig with 3/0 circle hooks and 2-3 oz surf weights. Depending on the conditions you may need a spider weight.

Is that for jetties or pier? How would I prevent from losing rigs at the jetties rocks?

Use a tall rod and when reeling the rig in keep the rod high and reel fast.

The big part is to reel in as fast as you can, and don't stop.
