Got a chance to hit Fork up with my fishing bud Hans (stratos77) this past Monday. Don't get a chance to fish much anymore do to....well....life in general. In other words, any day on the water is a good one and if we catch fish it just makes it all the better. Well we caught fish. Hans kicked off the morning with this beauty crankin' a point.

Action was pretty slow for us for a good while so we decided to move and change tactics. I went for a bubblegum jerkbait completely bucking the current Fork trend of fishing deep. My hunch paid off. Caught a small 2 pounder. Then a 3 pounder. Then just a few casts later this girl decided to make a meal of my bubblegum jerkbait. Didn't put up any kind of fight until she saw the boat. She then proceded to dive straight down and under the boat wraping the line around the trolling moter in the process. Eventually Hans got her in the net. She tipped the scales at 8 1/2#. Sure would love to catch her with a full belly.

All and all,a great summer day of bassin'

Wow...most days on Lake Fork are real foggy and you can't see the bank. LOL

Looks like a great day for you guys! Congrats!

Haha very true. We tried to turn on the "out of focus background" setting on the camera but it obviously was busted.

The way I look at it, if someone wants to try and figure out where this spot is by looking at the pic then go ahead. It only looks like 92% of the shoreline of Fork. Ha. And even if someone does figure it out & fishes it, theres no guarantee that they will catch fish there. In other words, have at it. Ha.

Nice fish!!!!

Good on you for going against the grain and catching 'em!

A LONG time ago on Fork, we were struggling bad fishing shallow grass. My buddy dug out a Lime Green Sluggo SS, it's a thin sluggo with a long thin tail, and put a whoopin on those fish with it. Middle of summer, middle of day, no wind, hotter than you know what, in 3' of water. Of course he only had one, so I just got to watch.

Keep the Lord in your heart and keep your powder dry.
