i searched the forum and found glow sticks used on rod tip, bobbers and lures. planning a nighttime fishing trip and thought about clipping on a glow stick on the weight/sinker that goes down underwater with a long leader with the big hook and cut bait or small live croaker. do you think the light would scare the big fish away or would they see the bait better or wonder about the light and come investigate? i guess i would have to see how much weight it takes to sink a glow stick.

We found that glow sticks sometimes do work when added to your bait but its success is limited to certain areas which we cannot explain. In some location the fish will eagerly pick up the bait and you will be very successful but in other areas the same species fish won't touch it. My advice, always try it, it may work or may not work but never stop trying it at different locations.
