I couldn't bail it out because each wave would just fill it up. My only option was to wait out the bad weather and come back in the morning. Well I got there this morning and it was gone. Stolen overnight. I spoke with the TRA security guard when I left the boat. He said it would be fine overnight. He informed the other guards and this morning the guard working expected to see the boat. He and a friend made a few phone calls to the sheriff, game warden, marinas. Nothing. No one has a report on it. At this point it is stolen. They must have been watching me struggle and bailed it out as soon as the weather shifted during the night.

If any of my fellow fishermen and women out there would like to help catch a thief, please print this picture and write down the following numbers and keep a copy on your boat. Please. If spotted, please call the game warden immediately and report it and then call me.

Thanks for reading.

Any possibility the waves pulled the boat back into the lake and it sunk?

I seriously doubt that it was a fisherman who stold the boat, but I will put money on someone with a Meth habit.

I'll be looking for a boat like that... but it will probably have a new paint job on it by now. Call the TPWD office and file an official report with the local police department that has jurisdiction around the lake. The police keep a database off that kind of thing, and you may get lucky someday.

Also, that really sucks, I feel your pain, Sir.

Sorry for your unfortunate luck. I hope they catch the thieves that took it.

Thanks y'all. I read about another fella who had all 3 of his batteries stolen and they tried to get his fish finder overnight while in the water this weekend near 190 on Livingston.

The batteries are probably at the local salvage yard. They pay about $15.00 or more, depending on the weight.

I grew up fishing the Tennessee River in the 50's with my father and grandfather. All the local fisherman knew each other and all carried rifles in their cars and boats.

If they caught somebody running anybody's fishing lines or stealing equipment from the boats they shot them and left the bodies in the river.

They would find two-three bodies in the river each year. However it did teach respect because the thieves never knew who had them in their scopes.

It's a shame that can't be done today. The thieves have all the rights now days.
